from this month's Fitness magazine:
- I love magazines. (I re-learn this every month.) Even though I know all the same articles and info are available online, there's something about turning the shiny pages of a magazine that I really enjoy.
- I need/want (I'm not sure which) a new pair of running shoes. All the ads are working. Other things I think I need due to ads include: a new car, a Garmin watch, a pair of cool sunglasses, some very expensive skin and hair products, trendy new clothes, a BOSU ball, a trip to the beach, anything from Athleta, and Jennifer Aniston's hair.
- I want to make lettuce wraps again. This time I'll try Boston lettuce. Here's the recipe, if you want to try it too.
- Smoothies are HUGE right now. Some have way more calories than we think.
- I might use some tips to Take Crazy Out of Busy: reevaluate your busy-ness (busy isn't the same as productive), re-frame your perspective (decide what's really important), then frame your day (plan, plan, plan), just say no (you can't do it all and it's okay to turn down the 'opportunity' to do more), don't set your workout bar too high (exercise should energize you - not exhaust you), enjoy your free time (slow down!). All good reminders. I really enjoyed the whole article. Maybe I should staple it to my forehead.
- You can save 6 grams of fat by ordering your venti with non-fat milk. The default at Starbucks is 2% milk.
- I'm going to start doing kneeling side crunches and cheerleaders. You can find the video for these moves and more here.
