Just in case you missed it, here is A Week in the Life of a Robin (egg): Part 1 and A Week in the Life of a Robin (egg): Part 2.
The pic-umentary continues...again...
Pictures were taken once a day using the zoom on my camera. I never touched any part of the nest, eggs, birds, or surrounding areas and tried to be as quick and unobtrusive as possible.

Look at those little wings!! We now regularly see the mama and daddy robin feeding the babies. They seem to be bottomless pits and eat all day long. I don't envy the robin parents' constant feeding schedule one bit.
These little guys are really starting to fill up the nest. We can hear them chirp through the window sometimes.

Have you laughed (enough) today?
That old saying, "Laughter is the best medicine," really is pretty accurate. Here are just some of the proven health benefits of laughing:
-lowers blood pressure
-increases blood flow to the heart and improves oxygenation of the blood
-uses, and may increase strength in, the diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles
-reduces certain stress hormones such as cortisol, epinephrine, and adrenaline
-increases health enhancing hormones such as endorphins
-increases the response of tumor- and disease- killing cells and reduces inflammation
-helps ward off respiratory infections, may even reduce the frequency of colds
-increases memory and learning, and may even increase test scores
-improves alertness and creativity
you grow old because you stop laughing."
Young moms and old moms
I am about 3 weeks into a new women's bible study at my church. There are about 40 women in the study and we break into small "Table Groups" for discussion. Most of them are young moms. I was feeling really old, a little out of place, and I must admit, questioning whether this was the study for me.
But then, I think about my table leader.
She is young; a mom of four, one of whom is 11 weeks old and not sleeping through the night. But every week she is there - on time, dressed with hair and teeth brushed, baby in a front pack, and a SMILE. That is saying something with an infant and 3 other children! She has done the homework, baked a little treat for us to nibble on, and emailed us several times over the week with our group's prayer requests and some personal encouragement. I can see and feel the love of Christ oozing out of her pores. She inspires me.
And so I am going to continue to go. I will be the old mom. I will listen to and smile at the stories of crying babies and potty training, carpools and soccer practice. And I will remember the years I was a young mom and going through the same challenges. And I know each of us will be blessed by being there.
Baby Love
